A: Yes KARIS is a qualified tax exempt 501(c) 3 Charitable Organization.
Q: Does KARIS have any religious affiliation?
A: No. KARIS although is independent of any particular church or denomination, KARIS always seeks in every way to follow the example of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Bible in dealing with the poor and all of our activities.
Q: Where does KARIS get contributions?
A: KARIS receives financial support by contributions from private sources; individuals and corporations. KARIS does not receive any public or governmental support.
Q: How does KARIS select projects to support?
A: KARIS has established giving criteria that are used to guide all giving decisions.
Our Giving Criteria Guidelines are:
- Is the goal a worthy one in light of the scriptures?
- Does it support the poor, widows and orphans, prisoners, or others in need?
- Will this contribution encourage independence or dependency?
- Can the project be monitored by KARIS to assure its efficacy?
- Will this support enable work that might not otherwise occur?
Q: How much money does KARIS spend on fund raising and on administration?
A: KARIS employs no outside fund raisers, and depends entirely on volunteers for administration.
Q: Are the KARIS financial statements available for inspection?
A: Yes. KARIS's tax return, IRS Form 990 and our Charitable Organization Registration Statement are available upon request.
